Review

From the director who brought us such titles as, The French Connection, The Exorcist, Rules of Engagement and The Hunted, to name a few – brings us another masterpiece of filmmaking, titled, “Killer Joe”.

This movie was incredibly well made, ruthless, brutal and violent, but nicely shot with some fantastic cinematography and a very intriguing, yet unusual, storyline that grabs you from the get-go until the very end. The movie was hard incredibly hitting. It never hyped anything up or watered anything down. It just showed you how it was and how it is, realistically.

The characters in this movie were down-to-earth and very realistic. The situations they found themselves in and how they attempted to overcome them were as equally realistic. The actors in this movie each gave a fantastic performance in really bringing each character to life – especially, Matthew McConaughey. When it came to his performance, he was like a snake shedding its skin - revealing an under layer we had never seen before of him. His character was cold and ruthless, smooth and sadistic – just like the entire movie itself. They say that this was Matthew MaConaughey’s best performance yet – and believe me, the rumors are correct. His performance was so powerful that his character would be impossible to forget.

This movie has the vibe of become a new cult-classic in time. Something I hope the very best for this movie.

RATING: 9/10
